Default NITFFA Competitions

I have read about a competition being run by this new organisation ,I'm interested in taking part but would not want to get into trouble with my club as it's affiliated to the ITFFA ,I'm not sure if the 2 organisations are linked ,working together or indeed in opposition to each other ,If anyone could shed some light on the matter i'd be grateful.

First ive heard of it bear,im a member of the itffa and this would spell bad news. With the initials nitffa i assuming its a splinter group resulting in a northern ireland fishing team, why whats the point,i fished with numerous northern guys on irish teams and the current itffa system works very well.I cant see this new effort getting off the ground at all,the itffa is very strong in the north and has the best of the norths anglers fishing with them.We all are fishing for the island of ireland and work well together and i was very proud to be part of the team and i can speak for all the guys north and south,i hope there is not political motivation for this breakaway group, anyhow i cant see it getting much support at all,do you know who is behind this proposal bear.

I heard talk of this a month or so ago. From what I could fathom it is being organised by a group of anglers from the north with the intention of starting a Northern Ireland National team picked by a series of eliminators at various fisheries in the north. Thought it was just talk at the time but now it looks like it is a reality.
Just one question, Why a North & South team? ain't the set-up as it is good enough for some?

I don't know the people invoved grasshopper ,but from what i have read so far its small stocked fisheries that seems to be the focus of the competitions ,As you know all the ITFFA competitions are run on the big lakes and fished from boats where as this organisation seems set to fish small venues from the bank ,so i don't really see it being a real rival for the long established ITFFA .Maybe they intend to have small water championships with people qualifying from their local fishery to fish in a grand final or the like ,Are you up for the Melvin Open in August ?

I boated the English on the Monday and Tuesday on Melvin before the International and had a great time ,The wee black boys were playing hard to get though they must have been on the bottom scratching their bellies

I heard the lads over on Melvin talkin about this.

They might be able to run qualifiers to get their team.

But who are they gonna fish against.

They would need to be affiliated to some sort of governing body like IFFA.

Maybe they are not happy with the current system and have formed a splinter group. Isnt that normally the way in Northern Ireland
