Default Bank Internationals

What is the view out there of adding Bank Internationals to the Calendar to stand level with the Loch Style and River Internationals. A proposal is in the process of being drawn up to hold one such International a year rotating around the 4 home countries.

Is there support out there for such an event, if so please add your comments to this thread. All commments will be used to support the bif if we go ahead with it. Time is of the essecnce as the IFFA Agm is next week!

We are proposing teams of 10 to fish at a largish still water such as Elinor.

There would be support up here amongst anglers I would imagine, but I dont think the comps section of SANA are too keen.

Default Bank International

I'd be interested to see how the qualification process worked before giving it a thumbs up. Would you have to draw pegs, sections or just run for the best spot a bit like the old racing drivers running to their cars.
The drawing of pegs around a major reservoir would almost certainly have an effect on the result in a one-off qualifier although it may mean that anglers not usually seen doing rivers or loch style would see that as an incentive to have a go.
Cheers
Mike

I'm sure it would raise the profile of stillwater bank anglers from all of the home countries. It certainly has for those taking part in the present competition run by CEFF.

i have posted this same reply on the other site

is this not what the airflo is supposed to be (it was a few years ago when you went to 4 diffrent venues around europe)

why not have it on a decent size fishery the airflo is already on elnior and its to little lets try and get away from fishing little ponds whats wrong with the derwent res off the bank, blackton, grafham, rutland, kielder, etc try and use some watercraft and not just which peg you are thrown upon and if it has to be a small water like elnior lets have it up north for a change witton castle, lockwood beck etc

if its on a decent size water a controller can follow you round or have a bank stretch that you can fish that could be a 100yrds long rather than a peg you end up been stuck on.

let have some ideas chaps feel free to comment on these posts please

Default Qualification

Just a note re the qualification.

Currently the top 5 Individuals from the Airflo Classic Final and the top 5 Individuals from the Team Competition get England World and European ranking Points in the same way the Loch Style and River qualifiers do. This has happened for a number of years and may not be well known on the International circuit.

If a Bank International comes about then this process will then determine the English International Team for the following year, The other Countries would have to produce tehir own Qualification system but if a Comp like the Airflo, or the Airflo itself were expanded into those countries that colu do the job.

What we need at present are lots and lots of posts of support, ideas, comments so that we can put a propsal forward to the IFFA at the next AGM.

Egnot.

Hi There,

I would certainly support the idea.

It might be bit late but you could include the question on the Airflo Finals Paperwork and next years Airflo Heats Paperwork if still needed.

Good Luck

Best Regards.

Default Bank International

Just a thought.

When the match goes to Ireland, where is everyone gonna fish.

There isnt much fishing done off the shores of the big wild loughs in Ireland and everywhere else is just a stockie puddle thats not suitable to hold an International.
