Hi Russ,

Wasn't there myself, (Anglian Water) but I'm told:
1st Nymphomaniacs
2nd Margam
3rd Welsh Wizards (I think)
Top rod Gareth Jones.

Was there today (Traws), fished quite hard! a few limit bags. Me? - just saved a blank - 1 !! (No longer a lightweight though)
Spring Team 1st.

Speak soon - Bushy.

Hi Bushy,
Fished Traws on Sunday, it was my first visit. Not a happy day left my boat seat at home! and no fish. What was the method? Mine wasn't working. Anybody got a cure for a sore bottom?

Make a tick off list coppertop always works for me. the only method you need for traws as Jh told me chuck it out pull it back when it stops you got one not the easyest places to fish just keep moving untill you find the stockie!

Hi Copper Top,

I think most anglers who caught well fished fast int' or Di 3 lines, with blobs / viva-type lures, boobies etc - standard kind of Traws set up!
Sorry about your bum! can't help with that Nice new engines though!

Yes Russ, loads of buzzer coming off especially early on in the bays - enough to tempt me set up with dries! Thought I'd made the right choice when 3 fish moved in front of the boat as I was setting up. Not to be though, by the time I was ready, the fish had disappeared, and not another did I see all morning!
My boat partner - Gareth Bulman, took a fish in Twm Twll ? which finally persuaded me to forsake the dries - or else a blank was on the cards Then got one on a Di 3, and black booby. Was a pod of fish in Twm Twll, also the totem pole, and home bay point, didn't hear of much elsewhere.

Wont be at llysyfran Russ, giving the Trials a miss this year - too much on!
Best of luck.

Thumbs up WSTAA and all things Welsh

Another comp season starts with yet another change in rules for the Welsh trials - C and R not allowed this weekend of course! You would have thought the governing body might have talked to the fisheries first but as usual......

That reminds me the Gower region have perservered with its attempts to use the constitution to require the Executive to conduct a fundamental review (conducted by grass roots reps nominated by the regions) of the way qualifying competitions and team matters are handled. The paper has been circulated to all affiliated clubs and is to appear on the Executive's agenda for the THIRD time on Sunday 4 May (in this case 'delay and perhaps it will go away' tactics are not working).

I know from a number of threads on this forum that individuals are fed up of the 'politcs' required to bring about change but if Gower region don't get the support on 4 May when it goes to a vote, I fear the worst. Surely this is too good an opportunity to miss?

Captains of the International teams for 2008 have a vote in their own right by the way.

This not intended to stir up any more old chestnuts but I would urge all those interested to at least ask their Club secs for a copy of Gower's paper and read it in time to influence the outcome on 4 May.
