Thumbs up Big Money Match at Rutland

In this month's Today's Flyfisher there's an announcement about a loch-style competition at Rutland with big cash prizes.
It's on Monday, September 18th and will cost £60 to enter. Once boat fees and permits have been deducted (£23 per person), every penny left will be paid out in prize money so if 100 take part the cash prize fund will be £3,700. There's also the possibility of a sponsor that could add tackle prizes to the pot but that wouldn't decrease the cash payout.
Providing there is a full turnout, the likely payout is £1,000 to the winner dropping down to £150 for sixth place and £500 for the biggest fish.
Applications have to be made on the form in the magazine but two anglers can be entered on one entry form.
It's fished to an eight fish limit but there's no time bonus so it will be a straight weigh in with the heaviest bag winning. There's no restriction on the size of fly that can be used either but it must be cast using a traditional fly rod and on a full length line.

Just guessing but loch style over here is front of the boat floating line and wet flies only. The world cup on Mask is fished like that

whats tragic is that people think this kind of c..p is to be welcomed - a long, long way from what fly fishing should be and how it should be presented publically the marketing men and tackle sellers make a killing and angling will suffer the long term consequences
