Default Fundraiser @ Burnhouse

Well done to all involved at Burnhouse yesterday, especially Jim Litster, whose brainchild this was.

Exceptional weather, great facilities, good fishing, and a very good turnout of the great and good in Scottish fly fishing made for a very enjoyable day.

Mucho cashio was raised and some exceptional prizes were dished out.

All in all it was quite an event, and I'm looking forward to the follow-up at Springwater in a fortnight.

Oh, and congratulations to the 'Fatties' for an impressive win, and Willie leach for his solo comedy performance. How long did that take to rehearse, and are you going for a BAFTA next year, Willie?

The guys from Strathleven Flyfishers (George, Donald and myself) aka Second Placers ....thanks Willie Bhoy..... would like to thank Jim Litster and Wullie Leach and anyone else who helped on the day. Without these guys hard work and planning the day would not have been a sucess, it was great to meet up with everyone and the craic was 1st class . Well done to the winning teams and individuals, i was lucky enough to fish next to the winner Jock Kettles who thoroughly deserved to end up top rod, he got the tatics right on the day, no wonder he is a regular in the Scottish team. Thanks must also go to all the other members of the Scottish teams and anyone else who helped or donated prizes or items for auction also thanks to the owners of burnhouse for a lovely set up and use of the fishery.

Well done to JL, WL and everyone else who helped out. It was a highly enjoyable day and a nice fishery as well - I was surprised that it only took 50 minutes to get there from Perth and I'll definitely be back.

Congratulations also to Jock Kettles and his team. JK was drawn three pegs ahead of me and I had the dubious honour of fishing his pegs after him - fortunately he left me a few fish though

It was interesting that virtually everyone was fishing an indicator whereas JK who was top rod by some margin stuck with a Cortland Blue all day - food for thought.
