Aye I hear it was tough, Looking out the window today wont be a big pile easier... I am out Saturday so bring on the gales as is usually the case when I tend to fish the open...
I spend 364 days on the lough in flat conditions then the day I fish the comp there is a force 4 blowing down it.

I was out for a few days before and after the competition. The fish were coming up and going away! Fished the Thursday and my partner and I put up 18 trout, most of whom took the fly. We didnt land one. On the Tuesday after the competition I was out and had a fine trout (I thought). He made a mess of the cast and waved good bye! What I found was a lot of fish were hitting the fly below the surface.
Got soaked a couple of times and am still recovering.
I am an ameteur but my colleague fishes for Ulster. Men on the International team didnt see fish all day.
