Default Stillwater bank final

I dont see anything on the forum about the FINAL at LOCHTER so thought id start with congratulating the winner whos name escapes me but fished like a champion to total 11 on such a hard day merits the title. A massive thanks must also go to LOCHTER FISHERY for the venue ,fish quality and the staff were impeccable, i had a double and its the nicest BIG FISH ive ever seen so big thanks to them. Last but not least the biggest thanks must go to FRASER RENWICK for again organising and pulling off another wonderful event. I know it has its knockers and fair enough were all entitled to our opinions but this in my eyes was a fantastic event. Dropped 2 on my second last peg may have cost me but a 9th place finish im happy with The very best of luck to all the guys who qualified and cant wait till next year. tightlines all

Talked to Fraser earlier and he hasn't had a minute since yesterday to get the results posted - and he's out tonight at another meeting working for sport in the local community. Results will be posted as soon as his many other commitments allow. I can only echo wileybugger's comments about Lochter and about the tremendous work Fraser has put in. What struck me as I talked to the competitors (and checked the odd fly) was how much everyone seemed to enjoy the event, even those who were not being fully rewarded for their efforts! It was a great day, great venue and great competition. Well done to all.

David

Here are the names.

Fifty one anglers took part and two hundred and eleven fish were caught and released. When the points were tallied the winner and Scottish Champion was Stuart McCormick from Ayr who had eleven fish. Other anglers who qualified for the team were John Morton, Kenny Hunter, Alec Bowler, Ewen Miller, Andrew Barrowman, and Richard McHattie. The latter two are both local anglers.

Well done to all.

Lets wish them well, and for success.

regards

I Went up at the week-end, (as a spectator) not quite sure yet wether it was to cheer my fishing buddy on, or as an excuse for a p*ss up, and a chance to fish a mostly empty top lochan, .... maybe next year

It looked to be a great success, the going seemed hard for a lot, but that said, i dont suppose you want it too easy when trying to get a good balance for an International team.

As far as i could see mostly everyone had a good time, and i echo what the others say, that the Lochter staff were second to none, it really is well run and imho was a good choice of venue, good going Fraser and what a nice guy David Ogg is, a credit to his organisation.

Well done to the winners, and good luck in Ireland.

Best regards
Jim

Must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend even though I only managed 2 fish in the final (dropped 5 or 6 but I think everyone else dropped a few as well) Lovely fishery and absolutely immaculate. I was their Saturday and Sunday and never saw any rubbish (apart from my fishing) or discarded nylon at all.

Roll on next year.

Oi BOWLER thats enuff o that couldnt believe i never got owt fae that wee point you were on m8 , you jagged them all rite enuff Had KLINKS ,OWLS, HARES EARS the lot and couldny buy a take m8. All the best in IRELAND m8 and to all the others too. It was such a rush at the end and no time really for congrats and to speak to awbody but although the dissapointments wearing off slowly im still blown away with the venue and the comp and have told everybody who wants to hear all about it On DIOGGS point i fully understand his points on FRASER being busy and it was no slant on his name on there being no report on the COMP, i only posted as i wanted to hear everyones opinion on the FINAL. No offence meant and hopefully none taken. Tightlines all
