Isn't that a bit like holding the national bird-pulling championships in a knocking shop?

Never fished Arnfield Roberto.

Not being able to make my usual qualifier i had a look at what was available, particulary one day events ( to save on coinage ), personally i think Arnfield looks good, granted it's not a huge ressy so anglers should be close to fish. Which kind of leaves the rest down to the individual. Also, it's small enough to be a good ' introducer ' for anglers new to the qualifiers.

I'll wager that even in your garden pond, Mike, there's more water than fish

Excuse me fellas........... i'm only high lighting a CEFF qualifier.

Jeeze we are a bunch of moaners .

I'll fish any water........... large/small whatever, it doesn't matter..... and i think yer missing the point, angling.

If Arnfield holds a lot of fish......... then the qualifiers will still need to out fish the rest of the field and whoever qualifies has still got to cut it at Grafham........... I look at anglers as being versatile. We've had similar comments towards the SmallWaters, funny thing is, this year we have seen more World /European & International entries than in previous years.......... Smaller Waters / Larger Waters all require a skill set by the angler, and the angler who succeeds in all is just that..........

Palm Springs next is it?
The CEFF are well aware that numbers are down and they are trying to get people involved, it must be very difficult for them.

How about tearing up the time bonus rule book and come up with something a bit fairer, no idea what but there has to be something, a ghillie in each boat?

I heard of one heat where only around ten fished yet three defo went through, bloody good odds is that!

We need someone new in fly fishing competitions, a company that is going to pay in what it gets out?
Fishtec had it right, 10, 000 prize, that's worth fishing for!

with respct steve money is tight with a lot of people and i think that is a major factor why entries are down, if you are fortunate to qualify its damned expensive to represent your country so i wouldnt think big prize money would be a bigger draw for an england qualifier would it?more the kudos of representing your country though i see your point in a big money match money/entry fees is main issue
