Default Ty Nant Llyn Brenig

Guys & girls the Welsh spring team for Orkney have been kindly donated by Llanilar AA an entry into this years Ty Nant Classic which is to be held on the 7th August.

To raise funds for the team we are going to raffle the entry at a cost of £1 per ticket, the raffle will be drawn on the 22nd May and payments will be taken via paypal, all you have to do if interested is PM me & i'll send you payment details & then your ticket number once we receive the payment.

The prize not only includes entry, meal & fishing for the match but also a hospitality meal the evening before with organisers & Ty Nant officials.

Those of you who have fished this previously will know what a fantastic event it is and how good the prizes are, it's also very difficult to get an invite to the match so this is a chance to fish a big match with some big names for the cost of a £1 and support a worthy cause at the same time.

Many thanks.

Craig Gimblett

Hi All

The winner of the Ty Nant raffled place was Paul Sharman......I think it raised the best part of £200 for the National team. Thank you to Craig Gimblett for doing the necessary.
I'd be grateful if the guys that contacted me a few months ago re places this year got back in touch......I have about 4 of the 90 places still to fill....... James Rice, Kevin Andrews, Alex Bowler are head of the list....plus Fishing Junkie.

On behalf of Llanilar AA, I'd like to clear up one issue. We sadly and unfortunately hear an opinion is being voiced by members of a certain 'small-minded, Welsh, hand-picked competition team' that they have no intention of chucking any money into the coffers of Llanilar AA. albeit that some of them were happy enough to take a share of the money derived from the donated raffle prize. We don't deserve this cr-- !!
The Ty Nant Classic is NOT a money making excercise for Llanilar AA ....any profit is accidental and is totally down to the generosity of the sponsors and the anglers and it finds its way back into the grass roots through various Club inititives.....as on the 1st July when our club members in conjunction with the EA introduce 25 kids to fishing and provide the BBQ The Ty Nant, is financed by corporate sponsorship. It annually brings into Wales up to 40 top class anglers from England, Scotland and Ireland and was conceived to bring much needed competitive angling with a friendly slant into the Welsh fishing calendar, and over the last 13 years we think we have acheived that goal.
Best regards
George Barron

Hope the dries are on for the ty-nant,This really is a cracking weekend with some top anglers in a relaxed atmosphere.
I've no idea how it's being fishing so far this season,I hope there's plenty of fish going in this year ??

One problem i see for this comp is a certain Mr Spencer Williams is attending, and with Mr Williams in 2011 comes as standard a 20-30 mph wind, so george unless this coming weekend on llandeg we get a better/lighter wind i don't think Mr Spencer should attend the ty-nant....

P.S

If his luck with the wind doesn't change i think he should drop out the international on grafham also, ( I want one cap without high winds )

Hey Taff

You gotta remember Mr Williams is vertically challenged and a high wind should not bother him ......... the last time he fished a match on grafham he was top individual so drop him at your peril

Looking forward to the Ty Nant in a few weeks time. Any chance that the Bahbah is been let out of Scotland so that I can give his ass a whipping in the fishing sense

I heard he's on top form at the moment Seasmus.....I'd be careful there !!! Be great to have yourself, Barry and Pop and Basil back again.....in fact we have 14 from Ireland this year, same from Scotland, with Chris and the English lot you outnumber the locals.
I'm full now on 92 anglers and guests, but one or two have still to confirm...maybe they're waiting on a new cheque book !!!! I still have half a dozen asking for places if anyone is not going to make it.
Bulk of the prizes arrived today........28 so far.......including 4 £200+ rods etc. There will be a small auction funraiser for the Welsh senior autumn team to fill time after the hog roast and before the prizegiving ....so bring some extra dosh.....everything will be new and if you're not in the prizes...at least you'll be able take something home with you and tell the Missus you won it.!!!!
Further to my last post........Llanilar AA took 35 kids fishing that day not 25 and the EA didn't put their hand in their pocket.
This weekend the Club run a junior comp on Llyn Dinas..........expecting 50 to 60 to turn up........check out the club website for more info....
Thanks again.
George Barron
