I'm organising the Straid Heat here in NI this year on 24 June - some of the guys who entered in previous years are getting it tight financially and may not be able to enter this year. Is it a similar story across the Irish Sea?

To be honest the Lexus team heat over here in Ireland this year is a complete joke. It was advertised that it was going to be at Tildarg again as last year. Then i heard that there was a heat being organised at Eskragh. When I enquired to Mr horsey about this, I found it difficult to get basic info like dates, rules etc. How is your team meant to even consider entering without a date.???????
It was the same last year. It was meant to be Mill Lough then it wasn't.
I got the impression this year that it was a closed shop.
Sad really as a few years ago I ran a Lexus team heat for John on Lough Lene with 15 teams.
Give me the Anglian Water Team comp anytime.A much superior competition, in my opinion.
Its about time that there was a proper team competition in Ireland on one of the big loughs like Melvin, Erne, Lene, sheelin. ETC. The team heat in 2007 and the Flextec Team championships in 2008,2009,2010 proved that if organised properly, that there is plenty of interested teams in Ireland.
