The annual fundraising competition for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) will take place this year on Saturday 14th May at the Lake of Menteith.
As well as the normal fundraising efforts for CHAS, this year we are also raising funds for a young girl Chantelle Petrie. Chantelle is 14 years old and at birth was diagnosed with Encephalopathy, Migratory Partial Seizures and is also blind. We would like to give Chantelle the opportunity to swim with dolphins which is her ambition during her short life with us.
Whilst the focus will remain on raising as much money as possible, this friendly competition, which has been running for a few years now, is always a great day out and provides a chance to experience the Lake of Menteith at one of the best points in the season when the buzzers are on the go!
The format of the competition will be slightly different this year. It will be a pairs competition with pairs being drawn at random on the day so you do not have to enter as a pair.
There will be a variety of prizes for the top pair, top individual and heaviest fish. This year, if you would like to be entered into a very special prize draw with the top prize of an outboard motor, participants need to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship for CHAS and Chantelle. There will also be a special
prize for the person with the highest sponsorship total – some amazing amounts have been raised in previous years.
If you just want to enter the competition, minimum sponsorship of £10 is required.
The entry fee for the competition is £30 per person.
