The first heat of the 2011 Scottish National Fly Fishing League took place at Carron Valley on Saturday 2nd April. 18 anglers caught a very impressive 234 fish all returned safely. Top rod was Simon Cocker who had 38 fish followed by David Chalmers 24 fish and in 3rd place Richard McHattie with 20 fish. Full results are available on

Both leagues, the Premier and 1st Divison, will compete at 5 venues, 1 stillwater, Carron Valley and 4 rivers, the Tweed, Don, Clyde and Tummel. Each league will have 18 competitors. There will be promotion and relegation at the end of the season.
At the recent SANA AGM it was confirmed that the top 10 rods from the SNFFL Premier league will be selected to represent Scotland in next year’s World and European events.
Entry Criteria to the Scottish National Fly Fishing League is available on the website. Entry to the Premier League can be gained by competing in the 1st Division.
There are still places available for anyone who wishes to join the 1st Division.
