Default South Antrim Festival - Competitions!

Newtownabbey and Antrim Borough Councils, in Northern Ireland are running a new joint event in 2011 which will begin to be publicised on South Antrim Fishing Festival - Learn to Fish - Where to Fish - Cook Fish - Where to Stay - What to Do. It's part of a tourism initiative......

Part of this event is for anglers interested in competitions, to help showcase the quality choice of put and takes in the area - 3 separate OPEN comps at 3 South Antrim Fisheries

Straid Fishery - Sunday 22nd May - 10am
Craigmore - Thursday 26th May - 6pm
Tildarg Fishery - Saturday 28th May - 10am

Details, format and rules are currently being finalised and the councils will be coordinating all entries. Although the comps are separate, with same prizes for each venue, I can confirm that entry and fishing fee for any 1 comp will be only £20! Or 2 comps for £35. Or all 3 for £50.

Prize Details will also announced very soon but will be in line with the pilot competition held at Tildarg last year - £100's cash with vouchers/tackle/sponsored prizes.

So, put these dates in your diary - I know there maybe some clashes with other fishing events but this has been in the hands of the respective councils and beyond control of fisheries - accept my apologies.

I'll update here as soon as details are released.

Tightlines,
Ray
