Just been reading about Trout Fishermans, Troutmaster's competition can anyone explain to me how the points system works in this?

Yeah i was wondering that too as it seems the person who won it only had 11 points and all the people who blanked had 192 points or something like that

Im curios to find out how it works

Thanks...Martin

Lowest Points wins. For instance if you win the morning bank section you get 1 point. If you come 4th in the afternoon session you get 4 points giving you a total of 5 points. If you blank you get 192 points. I think thats how it works

Dont know the precise detail for troutmaster but points usually work along following lines.
Competitors are drawn in to different groups and stay in same group throughout the comp, To simplify, say 2 groups of 96 and 2 sessions.
Group1 fish boat 1st day, bank 2nd, reverse for group 2.
Group 1 is scored on their session based on best weight is 1st and so on. Blanks are all scored as 96th equal (the number in each group).
Group 2 is scored the same so after day 1 there are two people with 1 point, 2 with 2 points etc. and a few with 96 points.
Same again on day 2 after which everyone has 2 scores.
Groups are ignored and winner is the one with the lowest points score over the 2 days. If a tie on points, best overall weight decides.
No system is perfect but it does even out the luck of the draw, eg. you are only directly competing with the others in your session. so day1 being a good boat day and day2 being a better bank day has less effect on overall score. Also useful for bank comps where pegs are used. If over 2 days it is split in to 4 sessions on different pegs, it evens out the good/bad draw.

Lochmor,

I think i read you were 14? try millhall reservoir in Polmont. they do a junior ticket (under 16) for £9 for two fish and c&r. if you catch a biggie on c&r and get in touch with the hut, i think they will come to you and weigh it.

Swanswater also caters for juniors 14 and under get a reduced rate.
