Good to see its all go and plenty of heats to choose from all over Scotland.

Well done Fraser, you put alot of work into it.

I know how much effort and personal time you have put in at your own cost and for the benefit of every scottish angler with this competition.

You deserve a good response to a growing competition.

Respect to you.

Hi There,

A good range of venues and dates there. Some of them quite near to me.

Is anyone allowed to enter or is it just reserved for the Scots?

P.S. Good to meet you at Elinor Kevin.

Best Regards

robbie

Fraser
I don't want to be negative but is it right to allow competitors to fish more than one heat, does this not perhaps favour the angler with plenty time an money? When fishing the international you have to produce on the day,so why should you get numerous chances to get to the final?
I know you have to do it on the day of the final but do you not agree to do it on the day twice would make a better angler.
Is there any priority in place at venues to an angler who has only entered once over an angler who is doing multiple entries where the venue is over subscribed?
Or is it simply a way to raise more money as there was a poor turn out last year?

I am pesonally not against the comp it just seems to be set up more for fund raising than a way of finding the stongest team.

Would it be wrong not to allow multiple entries?

Each heat is just that a heat/qualifier and as you say it is on the day of the final where you would need to produce the goods to qualify for the team.

Last year all were held on the same day and that was lambasted, now with the system in place, with a variety of fisheries holding heats on different days,so as those who may wish to enter ,can choose where and on what day to do it.

I dont see any reason why there should not be any fund raising for the International Bank team ,like every other competition has.It helps the team. The money is not the point of the competition.

This last years International was a success, despite the hard start it was given.respect to those who entered and to the team itself and to Fraser who worked very hard.

I think the popularity of the event will decide how many people will enter it. You have raised a very good point for the organisers though Blobby, in that they might need to consider at some time in the future the priority of applicants depending on availability. I’d certainly hope that priority was given to first time applicants rather than those who have failed to qualify elsewhere. The Lexus individual also allows multiple entries and I’m sure the extra revenue is most welcome.

Ultimately I think that for now, the organisers will be thankful for any additional funds be it from re-entries or wherever.

In answer to your question Kevin - Would it be wrong not to allow multiple entries?

No I don’t think it would be wrong not to allow multiple entries. In my personal opinion, I think that it would be a far better and fairer competition if you were only allowed to enter once. For those who think otherwise I guess it all depends on how desperate/committed (depending on your viewpoint) you are.

With over 4 months before the first heat takes place, rather than like last year,Everyone has plenty of time to decide if they wish to take part and enter to qualify for the final and qualify for the International team.

All under the same rules at every heat,be they first time or second or even third time ,they still need to qualify and every one has the same chance to do so.No special rules,no privilges,no special selections,no roll overs.Nothing .

All the same rules for everyone. The final is where it counts like in all competitions, thats where the team is selected.

What is being offered is the chance to be part of the Scottish international Bank team. The ins and outs and the time taken to organise it is of no concern, but has been organised to benefit the team.

Its a simple choice, you want to enter it or not.

But its here, its fair for everyone who enters and plenty of time has been given to make a choice, with heats all over Scotland to choose from.Im sure in the end the members of the team will enjoy the international in Ireland as this years team did in Cornwall.

But your entitiled to your opinions.which i respect.
