Default A little question.

Why are there separate competitions for men and women in Fly fishing? I pondered this a little in my blog this week. If anyone can give me a sensible decent reason, I'll amend accordingly. However, fly fishing is hardly a game of rugby, in the sense that I can't see any obvious physical reasons why.
Ho hum.

There isn't seperation, women can enter the Scottish National we already have a lady flyfisher in next years Team, and women can enter the Anglian Water and the Lexus. Simples all you have to do is get a team or Qualify for the National.

Nigel

Don't think so.there is a ladies international comp.but nothing to stop ladies entering the Scottish national heats to get into the Scottish team.once they have qualified by winning their own club competitions.the same apllies, they can enter the Scottish clubs comps. but have to have won through to be top 3 in their own clubs competitions.

I honestly, truly, don't want to create a stink and I am not wanting to make a feminist point. I just really wanted to know.

I don't think any of the big competions have ever been men only, ladies, disabled etc.can enter them. Youths mostly not allowed, presumably supervision, disclosure etc.
