Well I'm all signed up.

Now who wants to teach me to cast? Those farmoor regulars seem to be able to cast from one back to the other! J

Hello

It's been a little while since the last update but both waters are fishing very well. We are very pleased to welcome all our new day ticket visitors who have been fishing with us. The rod averages have been as high as 9+ on F1 and 5.5 on F2 the average across the last two weeks has been 4.2 on F1 and 2.9 on F2. The banks have out fished the boats this week. Notable fish were caught by Darren Gravitt a beautiful full finned R/B @12lb 3oz and Paul Throth had an equally well conditioned R/B @ 10lb 3oz. Both fish were taken from the West bank on lures. There have been some very nice Browns caught but no details as they all go straight back in.

The water level on both waters are well up and clarity is excellent, there are a lot of fry in the margins and many fish seen chasing them.

We are only a few weeks away from the Charity Christmas Match (Sat 18th December). A good number have signed up but I am aware their are many more who have said they will attend but as yet have not submitted individual names. Please ring in this week if you are coming along so we can start to plan for catering. The number to call is 07747640707. I’m told the Army are putting in a few anglers and the RAF lets have your names please folks.
We hope to run a raffle and donation prizes are welcome. We have a couple of nice items that have been donated and if we receive a few more we will be able to auction them on the day. Don't forget the proceeds are going to 'Casting for Recovery' (Breast Cancer recovery therapy). This is the last push for funds as next years collections will be for 'Help the Hero's'.

See you all soon I hope

What's the weather looking like for Saturday? I'm looking forward to my first comp, but I'm guessing it's going to be bloody chilly.

Cheers. John

Default Match Postponed

In view of the predicted heavy snow falls recently publicised on local and national weather sites for this area we have taken the decision postpone the 'Christmas Match'.

As soon as we have a good weather window for the match, we will let everyone know via these web pages. In the meantime, if you know anyone who was due to fish in the match please let them know it has been postponed.

We would ask all those who were due to fish in the match to telephone the Rangers Lodge on 07747640707 and supply your contact telephone number. We will then make sure you are informed of the re-scheduled date as soon as we have it.

Thank you all for your support for this match. The fund raising for 'Casting for recovery' will still go ahead on the rescheduled match, the menu for dinner may change but I'm sure we can come up with something appropriate. Lets hope the weather improves before the BBQ season.

The fishery remains open on a daily basis unless the weather forces temporary closures.

The Ranger team wish you a happy Christmas and new year and look forward to seeing you all soon.
