Default Talk by Phillip Bailey

The Yorkshire Gamefishers would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to attend our next meeting to be held on Monday the 18th January at Ossett Cricket Club commencing at 8pm, where the guest speaker will be Phillip Bailey (Flyfishwithme on this forum) who will be giving a talk about "North Country Style Fishing and Fishing Down Under". Philip has fly fished for over 30 years on the Australian mainland, Tasmania, New Zealand, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom. He is a former guide in Tasmania where he specialised in wilderness fishing for wild brown trout. Since Mmoving to Yorkshire Phillip has become hooked on the traditional fly patterns made famous by the North Country School of fly fishermen during the 19th century.

There is a small fee of £2.00 to all non society members with this being refunded if one decided to join the club for £8.00 per year. The societies aims are to promote the enjoyment gamefishing to all. The society meet on a monthly basis through out the winter months and arrange a small number of fishing excursions during the summer, with the emphasis being on the sharing of knowledge in a friendly good humoured manner.

For a map of the location of the club please see here WF58JT - Google Maps

Cheers

Mike I think your dates are wrong, and you must mean the 18th of Jan, as Phil and his lady wife are staying with me in Cumbria on Friday the 15th/16th.
Should be a good night, as Phil talks a lot of sense.
Steven.

Quite right Mr Trout!

I've amended the above to the 18th which is the correct date.

Many thanks for spotting the error.

Cheers

Michael

Hi Icky,

Not too sure if I could organise recording it at such short notice or if Phillip would mind or not, but I will discuss it with him.

Cheers

Michael

Please can I take this opportunity to thank Phillip Bailey (Flyfishwithme) for the excellent talk he gave to The Yorkshire Gamefishers Society on Monday night. It was a real pleasure to listen to such an enthusiastic speaker and I'm sure he gave all of those present something to think about.

Thanks Philip.
