Default Dee and Clwyd FDG - Calendar 2009/2010

THE CALENDER OF EVENTS 2009/10

Monday 05/10/09 - Jack Wilson - Dee & Clwyd chairman Jack kicks off the very first night. At the ripe age of 83, Jack is an example to us all - still churning out some cracking patterns that most of us half his age can't even see !

Monday 02/11/09 - Dave Palmer - The Monday night before the fly fair weekend and theres no better start to the proceedings than a night with Dave Palmer. Dave's regular visits to the Dee & Clwyd are always enjoyed because he fishes a variety of different waters - such as rivers, still-waters and reservoirs - so his selection of patterns match this variety.

Monday 07/12/09 - Trevor Jones - Trevor Jones is a national Welsh fishing treasure ! Trevor has represented Wales by fly fishing at international level many times, he is resident coach at Llyn Brenig, has coached and nurtured many Welsh youth internationals and knocks out some top flies. He won the Fly Fishing and Fly Tying magazine open fly tying league in 2006.

Monday 04/01/10 - Ceri Davies - The first session of the 2010 season and we welcome back Ceri, who is famous for the creation of the Welsh Witch range of flies which made her husband John very famous some years ago as he dominated the trout fisherman monthly big fish competitions. Ceri has a wide repertoire of skills with her being a commercial fly tyer and as such it will be an interesting evening again.

Monday 01/02/10 - Louis Noble - Another regular to the Dee & Clwyd and always very welcome. Louis is a North Wales local and guides on the Dee and local fisheries. He is APGAI qualified and always does an interesting demo - his UV demo last time at the Dee & Clwyd is still talked about regularly.

Monday 01/03/10 - Paul Ainsworth (Tango) - No introductions needed here - the moderator of www.Ukflydressing.com
Just search on UKFlydressing for posts by "Tango" to see the sheer quality of his dressings. A very modest tyer, but up there with the best in the country. Go see him on the UKFlydressing stand at the BFFI in Nov 2009 for a sneak preview of his talent !

Monday 05/04/10 - Final meeting of the season - (Tyer to be confirmed).

Dee and Clwyd flydressers meet at the Flexsys Recreation Club, Ruabon Works, Cefn Mawr, Nr. Wrexham, North Wales. Postcode for Sat Nav is LL14 3SL.

(Note: rumours are going round that the Flexsys club may close in the future, until this is properly confirmed - the venue will still remain the same for monthly meetings)
