Default Next FFF Scottish day out venue poll (final 2). Voting now closed

DO NOT VOTE FOR HARELAW AS ALEX WOULD LIKE A DAY OUT TOO!!!

After everyone voting in last weeks thread the venues with the highest votes are as follows:

Carron - 15 votes.

Howood - 7 votes.

Harelaw got 8 votes but Alex would like to join us so please dont vote for there.

So, its make your mind up time. Voting closes next Sunday then there will be a weeks voting on dates. Can any of the regulars who fish Carron find out about prices and dates availlable next month please as I know the ladies are there one weekend.

PS,

I understand its £23 quid per man, so £46 a boat.....

I only know this, as thats what I had to pay when I was hungover from a neet on the sauce in Callendar....and couldnt fish the next day!

My only input to this would be to collect deposits from attendees, as you, or the Boat Booker, will be left footing the Bill if people dont turn up mate.

I know Carron valley are members on 'ere so they could pipe up and let us know possibly?

Now, depending on the date.

Count me in for Carron...... A Saturday would be best....

Hi Carl.

Thanks for your advice m8

I doubt that we would be able to get the numbers to fill a venue like Carron hence why I have asked one of the guys who frequent there to find out prices etc.

The way its worked out before by general consensus is that if members dont turn up then the rest make up whatever the shortfall is. Happened once at Middleton and the fishery owner kept the same prices as we had it nearly sold out.

Looking forward to meeting you. Will need to buy a couple of flees off of you to try.

Nee Bother mate, you could always email Fraser @ Carron, and ask what the prices are, I'm sure a regular will clarify the costs too.

I dont mind forking out an odd 2-3 quid or so to cover someone who cannot make it for a legitimate reason, like they've lost an arm or an eye, but I'll be buggered if I'm paying for someone who "can't be arsed" LOL.....

For example,if there are 10 attendees, and 4 pull out, (if its £46/boat) thats £92 that the other 6 have to cover....thats another £15+ that we have to pay, ontop of fuel, and peoples intial outlay of £26

What about attendees booking there own boat by a set date, if I/You/Somone arranges with Carron that 'we' require 5,6,7 boats and expect some phone calls, then after the date set, they can still fill the boats with customers...... therefore, if FFF Attendees, dont turn up, Carron can contact the required person and sort it that way.

Aren't I a ray of sunshine....LOL

Edit; Heres the 2009 Prices mate.

Good idea Carl. Ill be out to play if the venue is carron. Seems strange to put a venue up and then doubt as to whether there will be enough lads wanting to go when its winning the poll!!!!!!! At the end of the day its a FFF meet and should be an amicable decision, which I thought the poll would do.

Jock - my comment about not filling the venue is due to its sheer size. Its 4 miles long hence why I said that we wouldnt be able to pack it out. I think we would need the whole of the forum to turn up to book it fully!

Not bothered where the day is. I will be at it regardless

Have to agree with Carl about letting people book own boats. Josh and I wil be bank fishing so won't be happy if I have to pay extra because folk can't be bothered getting out their bed or there's a wee bit of rain. Think the last couple of outings quite a few folk never turned up.
