Default Next Scottish FFF day out. Poll closed. See Final 3 poll

After much discussion we are now at the next stage of getting the next day out sorted.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS THREAD/POLL IS FOR DISCUSSION OF VENUE ONLY. DATES WILL BE VOTED/DISCUSSED IN NEXT WEEKS POLL

Right, now thats out the way I have included all locations mentioned in a new poll so get voting. Poll closes next Sunday (21st June) so where we go is up to you. Some of out members have already managed to find out prices and I have included details below as well as links to the fisheries if availlable:

http://www.harelawfishery.com/
http://www.middletonfishery.co.uk/
http://assf.net/fisheries/burns/
http://www.carronvalley.com/
http://www.assf.net/fisheries/morton/index.html 10% discount for FFF members if over 20 rods present. No boat hire charge. Lunch/tea/coffee inc.
Howood Fishery near Kilmacolm. 4 fish then c&r for £20 each.
Lawfield near Kilmacolm. If 20 rods are present it will cost £22.50 for 5 fish then c&r. Max of 32 rods allowed.

Please bear in mind that we have members of the forum who are less mobile and as such require boats to fish in comfort so please take that into consideration when voting on venue.

Over to you chaps

Even though I have voted for Harelaw I wouldn't mind either Howood or Lawfield.

The only possible issue that I can see if that we might not get the numbers for the Carron as a good few of the guys are from Ayrshire and that is a fair trek for them.

I'm not too sure how much location will cause people to come or not, travelling to harelaw for example from anywhere central and eastward is a pretty solid trip, took me 40mins with a fair dose of speeding and i'm only 10miles outside Glasgow! It will still take me a while to get to Carron....

I presume the people that vote are going to go (date dependent) so should give a good guide before we book anything. I really want to fish Carron, only fished it once from the bank but its been a place on my to do list for a while!

No probs guys

Travel isnt a problem for me as I used to do 40,000 miles a year till recently. It was just the guys further down the coast I was worried about.

Since there will be a couple of weeks to go how abouts we narrow the venues down to the 3 most popular and vote on a final destination on Sundays poll and leave the dates for the following week?

i.e. the day after a forum day out a poll goes up with 10 venues.
the next week a new poll goes up with the chance to vote on the 3 or 4 highest voted venues from the previous week.
the following week we vote on dates.
A week or 2 later we have a day out

Does that sound like a plan?

We could alternate it so that we have a central (stirlingshire/central belt) day out one month and a western (ayrshire/renfrewshire) day out the next month so that no-one needs to travel excessively?

As I said I am not fussed either way. If it is Carron that gets chosen can I go in a boat with someone who knows the place as it looks massive.
