Folks,

The first River Don Open Day will be this coming Sunday the 24th of May. Entry is FREE (but do consider making a donation!).

Lots of good stuff on, casting and fly tying demos, fishing demos with Paul Procter and Ben Dixon, auction of donated lots (in aid of the River Don Trust) including fishing and shooting etc.
Fly Fishing & Fly Tying magazine have donated the flies from all the entries received for their annual fly tying competition from the last few years which will be sold off on the day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, there's a single handed distance casting competiton (with prizes) plus loads of other stuff - so please do come along

For those with a keen interest in things 'Don' the opportunity to discuss what's happening on the river is a real plus with the three organisations associated with the river plus RAFTS, WTT and others all there.

One of the key lots on auction is an Orvis Helios 9ft #4wt rod, currently sitting at £360 (bargain!) it will be finally auctioned off after 1pm on Sunday along with a host of other goodies - well worth coming for the auction alone.
