Default Fish With The Stars Charity Fly Fishing Competition

As part of the 2009 events to support Grace House North East Childrens Hospice, Game Fishing Supplies and Hardy and Greys are organising a charity fly fishing competition

The event will take place on Thursday 18th June at Sweethope Lough, Northumberland. For those who havent fished there before it is a beautiful loch in the Northumberland which is fishing very, very well this year.

The day will cost £65 for the day which includes
  • Full day catch and release with boat included
  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Chance to fish with one of the Celebs on the day (draw on the day)
  • Meet and chat to the Celebs over breakfast and lunch
  • Chance to win a share of £4000 worth of tackle vouchers!! (see below)
  • Fantastic raffle on the day
The day will commence at 0900 and finish at approx 1700

The competition will be fished as catch and release with each fish caught being measured. The non-celeb angler who catches the longest overall length of fish on the day will be the winner. Prizes for this are awarded as such
  • 1st Place - £1000 Hardy and Greys Tackle Voucher
  • 2nd Place - £700 Hardy and Greys Tackle Voucher
  • 3rd Place - £300 Hardy and Greys Tackle Voucher

In addition, we will supply every entrant with a charity donation form prior to the event, so we can try and raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause. Prizes for the most money raised will be awarded as such
  • 1st Place - £1000 Game Fishing Supplies Tackle Voucher
  • 2nd Place - £700 Game Fishing Supplies Tackle Voucher
  • 3rd Place - £300 Game Fishing Supplies Tackle Voucher

The celebs who have confirmed their attendance so far include

  • Jason Oakes - ex Newcastle Falcons rugby player
  • Sean Wilson - Martin Platt from Coronation Street
  • Dean Andrews - DS Ray Carling from Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars
  • Paul Gascoigne - ex England and Newcastle/Tottenham footballer
  • Richard Hill - ex Saracens and England Rugby Player
This promises to be a fantastic, and unique, day out in a beautiful setting with good fishing and good company, with the added bonus of supporting this worthwhile childrens charity and the chance to win some fabulous prizes

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to see some of you on the day

Best wishes

Hi Ian

I have decided to grace Sweethope with my presence. Luckily Paul Gascoigne is a lifelong fan of mine, so he will be thrilled.... (er, NO, must be t'other way round).

Calling all fishermen! Save the Celebs from the Mouldy Oldie! Join up now and do something great for mankind. Brave the possibility that you might draw the short straw.

Cheers

Trish

I'll be there

More than happy to support a worthwhile cause from my homeland.

Not sure about fishing water that doesn't move though

You are doing a grand job Ian, see you soon.

Think I might need to book a hotel, an 800 mile round trip drive in a day might be a bit tiring

Bill
