I would love to come up just for a day if that is possible.

Did you manage to get any extra beats?

For those of you that fish the Monnow system regularly are there any patterns I should be tying up before the big day(s)?

Hi Mike
I'll post a little list later today if the wife lets me out of the garden

Now then, less than a calendar month to go...

One or two people have asked for patterns for the social so here goes...

Dries:
If the Mayfly hatch is on, I use Grey Wulff style, Ollie Edwards Mohicans, and some that Jean Williams of Sweets Of Usk ties up. You could do worse than ring her and ask her to tie you some up. I think that Cranefly likes a nice French Partridge pattern... he may offer further words of wisdom.

If there are no Mays about... Parachute Adams, CDC & Elk, Griffiths Gnats, Double Badgers, little comparaduns & klinks. But heck bring your own flies it would be nice to see people fishing other patterns, finding out what works and what doesnt... particularly grateful to those who do the research on that last part of the question

Nymphs
Goldhead PTNS, GRHE's work as well as anything - I get mine from Phil at Spidersplus - the PTNS are great - well work as well as anything except maybe for a little selection that Sage on here might be persuaded to put together for you

Hope this helps for the time being.

I would add a spent pattern to the mayfly selection and a Kite's Imperial to the dries - otherwise these should see anyone through most situations.
