Default FFF burnhouse lochan

After the two great days fishing towards the end of last year organised at Harelaw and Middleton, which was a chance to meet up and put faces to names, i thought i would put up a post on the above venue to see what interest it gathers.

I was speaking to john the fishery manager about dates and seemingly most sundays over the next few months are avaiable, there are two competitions organised in june both on saturdays so maybe june should be left alone, the fishery fishes extremely well at any time so there are no worries to be had regarding earlier or later dates, I myself think april would be a good month to organise a day`s fishing.

If we could muster up 25 to 30 people the fishery would be all ours for £21 each four fish, then eight fish catch and release which in my opinion is great value the extra £1 would be for tagged fish and he says he would put a few extra tags in to make it a little bit more interesting we could have a wee pool going between ourselves for the tags, but i must stress at this point this will be a friendly get together and not an all out competition.

check out the website for any information www.burnhouse-fishery.co.uk
please add any comments or let me no who is interested i will start the ball rolling for the second sunday in april 12/05/2009 to see if this is suitable for everyone.

Chris,
Josh and I are interested and will speak to McAllister to see if he fancies it.
Ali - will be good to meet up again.
Think once you get date and numbers sorted make sure you get the money up front as I remember b16ave organised a day and think he ended up out of pocket.

If you do it the way paramedic pete does it,Pegged and move every 45 min then it works just fine.

I will bare that in mind ian, i don`t think there will be a problem with numbers the price will be £20 + £1 for tags if there isn`t 20 definate places he will leave the water open for others to fish hopefully over the next few days i will get a response from other forum members and we will put a definate date up and take it from there.

Hi jim that`s exactly what john suggested pegs and movement, having said that i don`t think there is a bad place to fish up there, I think you were fishing when i was speaking to john on the far bank ? what did you catch them on.

I`ll be up for this,a few of us are planning a wee day out there on 8th Feb. On the subject of the tagged fish,i was there with my club before just before Xmas.Caught a tagged fish, the guy came round,i released it,the guy went away. The guy had barely got in the hut when i hooked another fish, another tagged one!Shouting down to the guy i had another tagged fish, after going back in the hut and coming back out he shouted to release it.I`m thinking nice one £50 up.An hour later i finished up for the day, went into hut and guy said he`d been over ruled and was only to pay me £25 and not £50.The reason being i had`nt paid another £1.The guy by his own admission said he would of paid out the £50 but the management had said no.I was unaware i had to pay another pound and indeed the guy himself said he did`nt know about this rule either. So just a wee warning if you catch a tagged fish, pay another pound! Andy

As I am moving onto shifts I cant confirm for 100% certainty that I will be there but provisionally put me down and I will let you know if the situation changes.
