Where do you fancy? I'll be up for it and so will Cowboy. I'm sure I can get my 2 other mates to come along (not members of the forum yet). There must be a few others who came along to Albury in October (and got soaked!) and those who did the last one at Woodington.

Venue ideas anyone?

Thumbs up

I'm up for that, depending on dates of course. But beware, after eventually getting my head around casting with my favoured arm (the left), I have managed to aquire a frozen shoulder and am back to where I was when I started a year ago, so I'm only turning up if the rest of you get extra insurance or give me 20 yards of room either side!

As for a location, as there seems to be a Surrey/Hampshire slant, how about Frensham, never been myself, just thought it might be handy for everyone. Really not too fussed where we go, just an idea

Hi lads, ive never fished Frensham, so someone else would need to arrange that!

I must admit, i like Blackwool. There is a really nice /fair bailiff there now. They have put a lot of big fish back in recently too. The lodge has been sorted a bit better now. Its easy to get to from the coast and that there London.

It usually fishes well in the winter and spring, although the 4 fish ticket on the big fish lake is £55 squid.

As for dates, i reckon we should do it in Late feb/early March? What do you reckon?

This is only a suggestion as i dont really now any better. Any one got any other ideas?

I fish Frensham a fair bit and know Richard the owner quite well now to speak to.

Give him a call- he is very helpful.

It's a great location in myopinion but the fishing can be tough so don't expect a four fish haul by any means.

Count me in.

A well timed post, I was thinking of arranging a start of season tuition day soon, and wanted to gauge opinion on if it was worth it. In short I was going to arrange a fishery, for 10-15 people, with me hanging around giving tuition and tips all day. Format wise I don't know if people fancy just doing a day, and then paying for individual tuition by the hour if they want it, or paying for the days fishing via me, I take a small commission, and then give a presentation at the start of the day and wander around giving advice to people who want it. This for me would be commercial of course, but as I'll be giving non stop lessons I can do it for reduced rates as there'll be no additional travelling ir 'dead' time for me. I'll also stress that I won't be getting paid to go fishing, I'll be working all day and won't be fishing at all.

What do people think? Costs wise I can do individual lessons for £20/hr for six - seven people, roughly half price, or I can negotiate a group discount at a fishery and the discount will probably 'pay' for me wandering around giving advice all day, or if it doesn't it'll be £5 per man tops I'd imagine?

Any enthusiasm for the idea? Bounce the idea around and if it's got legs I'll get a list of names and organise a fishery. Organise some food too if you want it

Sounds a good idea to me. I have been fly fishing for years and have probably got too many old habits to iron out but I'm sure others here will also be keen. I have noticed a few southern Newbies on the forum lately looking for advice and this idea could be excellent or them.
I can generally get 3 others to come along to the 'Get-togethers' but that depends on venue and dates etc.
Never fished Frensham but wouldn't mind giving it a bash. I have read some negative reviews on other sites but first hand accounts are always much better to rely on.
Lets keep this one going!
