Default The 2009 Spring Flyfishing show - up-date

Just thought I would keep you all informed about the show. Hope to see you there.

Gear up for 2009 at The Spring Flyfishing Show.

It is without doubt that The Spring Flyfishing Show goes from strength to strength. Now in it's fourth year, the show is hosting a huge array of flyfishing talent from all corners of our sport. The 2 day indoor show has a packed programme of events covering theatre talks, casting demonstrations, flytying demonstrations, free prize draws and exhibitors and manufacturers launching all the latest flyfishing products.

Go and see your favorite personalities, such as; Paul Young, Charles Rangeley-Wilson, Chris Sandford and Mike Harding from the BBC and Discovery Channel. Meet Hans van Klinken and learn to tie the Klinkhamer from the man himself! Have a chat with Malcolm Greenhalgh and get a signed copy of his latest book. Watch Charles Jardine dazzle you with his latest casting techniques on the indoor lake. See Ian Gordon demonstrate salmon casting on the new spey casting arena. Meet John Tyzack, 5 times English rivers flyfishing champion and more...

If your into flytying, your eyes will be amazed at the sight of international flytyers from around the world demonstrating their flytying skills. See Jens Pilgaard from Denmark tie traditional salmon patterns without a vice. New patterns from Italian flytyers. See England's Phil White tie stunning, yet easy patterns for our rivers. Watch realistic tyers like, Finland's Jukka Tapio, Sweden's Leif Ortenholm, and England's Steve Thornton. See and buy the latest patterns for our reservoirs, still waters and rivers, and learn how to tie flies for Saltwater, Pike, Salmon, Trout and Grayling.

And, if all that isn't enough, see, try and buy from a packed exhibitor centre, all the latest flyfishing gear for the new 2009 season. Try out new rods, reels and lines from, Hardy, Greys, Whychwood, Sonik, Ari Hart, Able, Rio, Vision, Redington, Lampson, Masterline and more on the purpose built 'try before you buy' indoor casting lake.

Its all happening on the 28th February and 1st of March at the George Stephenson Centre, Newark Showground, Newark, Notts, NG24 2NY. So, set your Sat-Nav's, it's a show not to be missed. You could even be lucky enough to go home with one or more of the free £3500 prize draws. Win holidays and the latest flyfishing tackle from; Wychwood, Discover the World, Flyfish Scotland and Yorkshire Game Angling. Someone has to win them, so, it could be you... And for all you shooters, there is a massive, dedicated shooting show being held at the same time, and, you can get in free with your flyfishing ticket. 'Hey, what more can you ask for'. For more on the shooting show visit www.theshootingshow.co.uk

The show opens at 9am till 4.30pm and costs £10 for 1 day or £18 for 2 days. Under 14's free and other concessions. Visit the website - www.thesfshow.com for all the news and latest show information.

Default The Spring Flyfishing Show

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your comment this helps us keep on our toes and has certainly helped to get the message through to the contract caterers. In their defence the show has grown every year since its launch and even though the caterers have provided some fine fayre they have been caught out by the numbers.

For 2009 we have given firm instructions to the caterers to have more staff and plenty of extra food available. We have also asked them to provide an outside catering unit for quick snacks and hot drinks for those in a hurry.

The British Shooting show is being held at the same time and just a short walk away from the flyfishing show and your flyfishing ticket gives you free entry to the Shooting Show. There will also be a food court area at the end of Gunmakers Hall 2 and a large restaurant and bar attached to Gunmakers Hall 1. That make 4 food areas in total.

Above all the caterers are determined to excel themselves for 2009 so, barring an apocalyptic event, everyone should have much quicker access to hot drinks and good grub...

Thanks to everyone for continuing to support the show and wee look forward to meeting friends old and new on Feb 28th & March 1st at the Newark Showground.

Best wishes and a prosperous New Year from all at the Flyfishing Show and Shooting Show team.
