Default Monnow Social 2011

Hi All
The River Monnow Social is back for a fifth year running in 2011. Regular visitors to the Monnow thread and attendees of last previous bashes will recall that we drank beer, more beer, whisky and wine in beautiful surroundings, ate steak and even caught some fish. The experience is to be repeated this year between Fri 6th and Sun 8th May.

There is a maximum of 22 places available (at this stage).

Your hosts for the Weekend will be the usual suspects, and judging from the pms I have received already, so will the majority of the attendees

The cost for this year's event will be £130. Your money will cover Camping costs, supper on friday & saturday nights and breakfast on saturday & sunday mornings; it will include your fishing for the weekend also. One day on the main stem and one on a wilder upper river beat. As with last year, any surplus will go straight to the Monnow Fisheries Association.

As with last year, we will be seeking to repeat the saturday night drunken auction. So if you have anything to contribute - no matter how obscure - then bring it along.

The idea is to secure a wide range of beats and keep them as lightly fished as possible so that nobody gets "sloppy seconds". For those of you who know the river system, well you know what to expect.

We have an initial list of interested people from last year's event but we may have a few extra rods available for this years event. Things being what they are, it is likely that some original names may not be able to attend or have to drop out. So if you are interested, please drop me a PM and we'll keep you posted on developments. Once we have a list of attendees, we will be asking for a deposit and then there will be a cut-off date after which we will open up the event to anyone on a waiting list.

bfn
Dave

That is exactly the reason why Mrs DanC will not be in attendance.

Room for one more now. Unfortunately I am going to have to give this a miss this year.

Will be up later in May for a couple of days on the Escley.

I thought the Maffia had made it clear at the Grayling day; no Mrs DanC then no DanC. Just not good enough!
