The fact that the Loch is lightly fished is exactly what attracts those of us who still enjoy that type of fishing though.

I still dont understand how you can say that.... I would really like to see the numbers that your members have been catching for the past three seasons in order to ascertain,to my own satisfaction at least, just how much the sport has been improving,....if at all. All anyone can do at the moment, is take your word for it...?

Default Not a wind up ?

Richard,
If that is really your name, why entitle this thread using an exclamation mark ? Wild Trout Competition ! .

Surely you had to have been aware of this Forum's views on the subject ?

Reading your various replies my personal opinion is that anyone reading this would do well to steer clear of anything to do with you frankly.

Don't think I'll be contributing to your "research effort" somehow.

Wild Trout Competition !

No thanks.

Hello Richard It seams to me that this is an money making comp for the club? As you have the clubs records you only need to look back twenty years and you will find the fishing as been in decline for years. As the angling club had 2 comp a season which where never advertised on an open forum.I am well aware of the work the club has done in the past with the Tweed Foundition as I was part of the committee back then. You my have got an difernt responce on here if you had asked the guys to join the club insted of Killing Wild Brownies and I am right it dose take an 8oz trout about 7season to get to that size all you need to do is take a few scales of one and get a reading. Regards
Stewart

one thing to come to out of this bizarre thread is the exemplary attitude toward protecting wild fish, im sure richard will be influenced by that and maybe realise its not the number of fish out of a healthy population that counts, its the ethos.

Richard
I look fwd to attending the competition, i enjoy my wild brown trout fishing and the competitions on these venues. Also looking fwd to fishing Loch Awe in the Scottish nationals and hopefully some club outings on Loch Leven all for wild brown trout, cant say i have seen any decline in catches on any of these venues over the last few years due to angling activity so dont take it as read that everybody on this forum shares the same opinions.
Good luck with the comp. Will send a pm regarding some more info.

He doesnt need a PR department.

He is the PR for St Marys.

The knockers, without researching the reasons, do, however.

How peculiar Aenoon picking a quote from 11 pages back, and way out of context.
As this was an ammicable exchange (postings 9, 11 to 13 with Richard, in which he stated he wished he had a PR dept!

I later asked if maybe netting would be a more affective way of doing the research ... it was a question and went unanswered.
I have not commented on the state of the lake as i havent been to the fishery and know nothing about it... it does seem a lot of guys here do, and have valid viewpoints and opinions that should be considered.... why not take your gripe up with them and pick one of their old posts?

I can only presume your being mischevious and trying to stoke a fight that doesnt exist (Again), (and I expect an abusive PM to follow).

Isn't it time you found yourself another villian fella?

Fishinmad welcome to the forum.

I have just spent the past hour and half reading through all the posts in this thread and have come to the conclusion IMHO that the main reason for this competition is a commercial one as there are other ways to assist in scientific studies with less impact on the resident Wild Brown trout population.

Something I just cannot understand is why someone would start a thread such as this knowing full well the enormous amount of flak and opposition that they were going to receive unless you enjoy being ridiculed from left right and centre you are a braver man than I am.

Just a thought your father was not a kamakasi pilot by any chance.
Hope you are enjoying the forum.

Alan
