Hi All, Congratulations to Gordon Hollinger from Shrewsbury, on winning the Ellerdine Lakes Fur & Feather competition yesterday. His winning three fish bag weight of 8lb 4oz secured his victory, over 35 competitors.

Anglers were rotated through pegs on Meadow and Marsh Lakes every 45mins, advancing four pegs on each change round. Quite fair I thought.

Testing, would be the word I'd use to describe conditions, which were a squally wind and driving rain in most areas. Air temperature and wind chill were the biggest factors to contend with, so long as you could put up with the rain. Thank god for breathables.

Well done to Garry Edwards and Malcolm Harrison for a very well run competition. A big vote of thanks goes to all those, braving the elements just to fish and of course support the fishery too. Just wish I'd caught.

Fairly foul conditions but excellent "craic" as usual. Good to see so many there supporting the old ******. Garry is handing the reins back to Ed at the end of the month. We'll miss the abuse!

That sounds fun (well, weather aside) maybe I'll give it a go next year. I've moved away from small stillwater fly fishing a bit so not fished Ellerdine for some time but always enjoyed it when I did.

No one has any idea what's in the mix for next year, as Ed takes back over from Garry. Should be interesting to see what, if any changes are made.

Apprehensive at the moment though??

I'd like to thank Garry Edwards for the last two years he's had at Ellerdine Lakes.

He does provoke some good Craic to anyone who turns up. Tomorrow marks his last day 31 Dec 11.

He then moves onto on line tackle supplies. I wish him and Trish all the very best for their future.
