Default Take 10 deep breaths before reading...

For those of you who don't dwell in the Salmon section (first and probably the last time for me now) there's a serious point in here but also some pretty depressing snipes the longer it goes on:

Are barbel the reason for plummeting salmon numbers on the Usk?

I don't think barbel are Usk naturals are they?

I can imagine that they really tuck in to salmon eggs, and at the end of the day, salmon anglers pay more to fish, so might presume to be looked after?

From what I see, unless you are in a private club these days, your season is over on June 16th!

Paul G has addressed the specifics with far more in depth knowledge than I could ever offer, looks to me like classic scape-goating, but its the antagonistic attitude that irritates me more than anything, that certainly is not going to help. Anyway, I should take my own advice....10 deep breaths....I'm off to the Group Hug room....

Jeff , when i went in there i kept catching noses that were stuck up in the air on my back cast ,give them a loaded gun and tell them to point it at there feet

pure guesstimates on there part, and no doubt no nothing at all about barbel

Sounds like the good old days are coming back where all grayling were to be removed from the river.
There may be some truth in it but come on, whats next are the dippers going to be culled?
