Question Colney Heath Gravel Pits

Does anyone know anything about the Gravel Pits behind the school in Colney Heath ?? I Lived In Colney Heath until my mid teens and these pits were where I started fishing at the age of 4 with my father .
I often think about those times and how great it would be to revisit my childhood and return there one day . I don't even know if these pits still exist ?? As some of the old pits were used to wash the gravel and became totally silted up .
Thanks .

If you mean Colney Heath, Hertfordshire, that is quite close to me and yes, there are some commercial coarse fishing lakes there.

Yes I do mean there . I have put a ring around the pits that I used to fish .
I went on google maps after seeing SP's post he put up . It seems they do not use the pits anymore for washing gravel as all the machines and piles of gravel are gone by the look of the pic .
At the bottom left where you can see they are still working the ground , well that must be some seam of sand and gravel there as they were working that when I left 25 years ago
There were 2 other pits that I fished that were silting up then . Looking at the map they are totally gone now .

Not Lafarge Tyttenhanger quarries area is it? Looks like it could be, think I've driven past there a few times, plenty of sand and gravel around that area
