forget the okumas and speedias (and deffo forget the shakeys). They are about 4" dia. Imho the best pin out there for trotting, esp long trotting is the 5 and a half inch lewtham leeds reel (no handles version). The retrieve is just so much faster than the okumas, good reels and ex val 4 money though they are! After a 50 m trot you have to bat like hell with the okumas etc but the 5 an a half lewtham comes back quicktime! They also spin as well as any other pin i have tried.
On fleabay most weeks and i got 1 for a shade over £20 a week or 2 ago. An excellent bit of kit. I have had my orig one for 15 yrs.

the only problem with leeds reels is them falling too pieces ,i've had one where the rear nut undid and fell off on me and seen another go hurtling into the trent after it did simular too someone else.plus i know others who's had problems with them.and big reels can be unwrieldy and unbalance a good set up .but then again some people actually like them

plus the speed of retrieval isn't always faster ,its just a extra inch of line per revolution over that of a 4 1/2" okuma and its all in your technique ,and besides the rate of retrieval isn't important ,well unless your speed fishing for bleak .a 4 1/2" reel (the most common size) gives sufficiant retrieval speed & prevent line spin for the average angler
