Default John Wilson bait pouch

I have been searching high and low for a John Wilson bait pouch to use when I go centrepin trotting for roach and grayling etc. I know there are many other pouches out there but the one I really fancy is the John Wilson one. I think they were discontinued either last year or the year before last, does anybody know where I can get one of these pouches or does anybody have one that they would be prepared to sell me?! Many thanks in advance.

Sam

do you mean the John Wilson bait bucket with the extra pockets on the outside.

as they're available from this e-bay trader

or this bait pouch from Harrisons

Personally i think the ESP bait pouch much better .

I've got one of the John Wilson bait pouches. Got it from http://www.fly-fishing-tackle.co.uk/

Don't know if they still do them. Good bit of kit IMO.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Chavender, I do mean the pouch that you have posted the link to but the item is stated as discontinued and you cannot order one from the site. I looked at the ESP one, is it ok for using with maggots? It looks like it bulges too far and that the bait might fall out when moving around and bending down, is this the case?

Lawrence, thanks for the link, they only do the organiser bucket now by the looks of it, they musn't have sold many otherwise masterline would probably still be making them!

Regards

Sam

How about one of these. Designed for getting in the river and trotting a stick down without having to mess about with baitwaiters and banksticks

If it's just one bait you want to carry, say maggots, why not just use the humble bag hung around your neck? Great for deep wading in chesties and you can easily knock up your own in few minutes with the leg of an old pair of jeans and some flat cloth tape (a flat shoelace is ideal).

One of my local shops used to sell them in natty camo for a quid. He's run out now and says he's not going to get more made up because he reckons nobody fishes the rivers anymore!!!

theres the lightweight pouch which has a single pocket or the stalker pouch This is the one i have (the better one) ,it has a velcro inner edge that seals up tight when bending down the pocket has a inner liner thats removeable for washing .its not bulky either

Click the image to open in full size.

theres a smaller outer pocket for bits ,it'll hold two small clam box's and theres two loops for catapaults etc i have a extra belt clip (hammer holster) that i slip the handle of my landing net into

found this alternative to the john wilson two pocket pouch a shakespere one
on e-bay
