Question mulch

Ive heard that trout pellets mixed with eggs make a good groundbaiting mulch,
can anyone tell me how to make this mix?
Do you use just the white of the eggs or the whole thing?, also is there any water put in the mix?

finely ground pellets mixed with full eggs will make a decent paste.... not really classic groundbait though.... more of a hookbait. you can even make crude boilies from it.

I was told by a (mixed) fishery owner that trout pellets do Carp no good at all (in the middle of a long list of things that clients do that annoy fishery owners), better check it's allowed where you fish before you go making a large trout pellet omelette.

Touché

Fish oil is a great attractor for carp and to be honest I think a few fisheries only banned pellet as like everything fishing related some people take it to an excess. I've seen some waters where there's been something akin to an oil slick in parts
Hemp oil is another great attractor. But there again hemp has been banned on some waters.

very true.... a lot of the specci carp guys soak there baits in all sorts of oils.... i.e. salmon oil!

ive heard of guys that load there groundbait with it, and they can tell when fish are feeding in the area as a slick produces on the surface from the released oil!!!!

It's not just the specci boys mate.

You'd be surprised at the length match anglers go to for the odd extra fish.
Whilst trying to come up with a ground bait a few years back a mate of mine went out and bought an old butchers grinder so we could experiment. He even started adding mono sodium glutamate (sp?) to the mix.

A lot of people foolishly think the more flavour they add the better
Less is most definitely more when it comes to flavour.

Back on topic though.

One way I used to use trout pellet as a attractor was by grinding it up in to a fine powder and adding plenty of water to it. Making it in to a soup like constancy. This acted in the same way chum does for sharks. The fish pick up the scent and move in to your swim, but there is nothing of value for them to eat except your hook bait no egg needed unless your planning on using a little bit of the powder and turning it in to a paste for the hook.

fairplay. i used to do the old soup trick in winter on commercial fisheries, with a fine grounbait, made really soupy, splojjed into a small maggot feeder with a pinch of maggots. it really spreads quickly through the water.
