Default Cheap Trotting Rod

Looking for a cheap 12 to 14 foot rod for trotting. Have never tried it until the forum outing at Kinkell and Josh had a go with Maharg's rod and quite fancies trying it next season. Any advice on which rod to go for greatly appreciated, SWMBO will not be amused if we spend too much. Cheers.

Ian,mine's is an LEEDA 13' which cost £23 and it's been superb value for money. Flygirl was amazed when she had a grayling on as to the fighting quality of the fish/sensitivity of the rod.

Ron thompson 13/15ft for £50 may be an option feels very similar to a Greys prodigy and looks similar...... half the price you can pick a decent 13ft rod up for £30 shimano hyperloop fast action pick line up well lite tip and a bit of back bone loads to go for enjoy looking

Above the golden gravel,

And draw them all along, and flow
To join the brimming river,

But I go on for ever.

I use a 13 foot Shimano Nexave..can pick them up for around £60. I love it for Grayling because although its a fastish action for setting the hook, it bends nicely when a fish is contacted.

As for the Ron Thompson C14 match being similer to the Greys Prodigy..thats because its the same blank
