Default My grayling on the centrepin

Thought I might share these with you.

Caught them in the last 2 weekends on worm.

My rod setup is a 13ft rod with a reel loaded with 4lb line and a 2.1lb hooklength, connected to a size 16 micro-barbed hook.

Hoping to go the same stretch again this weekend.

It's the River Aire at Broughton, near Skipton.

I was fishing the Bradford City stretch, but Bradford No1 have the other side.

The water last weekend was low and very clear!! But this weekend I think it will be high and coloured, since I noticed the river was high on the way to work.

I love catching grayling but I hate it when I can't take the hook out fast enough, then I don't have to wait for the fish to revive its self for at least 5 to 10 minutes!!!!!!

Thanks. They are nice fish.

Bradford City has some lovely trout and grayling waters. That's why me and my father joined.

Default Bradford City AA

Could anybody give me an idea of the waters that Bradford City AA have that are suitable for fly fishing. I am looking to join a club next year and I have looked at Bradford City and Bradford No 1, which would be best for fly fishing? I believe that both clubs tend to have more waters for bait fishing and bait and fly fishing don't mix too well.

I've caught grayling in the summer and early autumn before and they don't go back very well. They often need nursing and deep hooked fish often don't survive. Much better to leave them until there are no leaves left on the trees IMO.

I never fish for grayling until after Christmas - you don't need to wait that long, but I fish for them then because you can rely on grayling for bites in the coldest days of the year when nothing else is biting.
