Post Help for a beginner!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to fishing and i'm in some desperate need of advice. Is it possible that some of you could explain to me how to set up lines for floats and spinning the proper way or could you show me somewhere where there's any diagrams. Also any info on baits, new products that would help me or anything you'd like to share with me that could help me would be invaluable to me.

Many Thanks in Advance,

Tom

Tom,
Firstly, welcome to the wonderful world of fishing!
I think that your best plan would be to firstly, buy yourself a really good, illustrated book on fishing in general, possibly one or two DVDs on the sort of fishing that appeals to you most and just let your mind absorb what it will.

One of the best fishing writers today is John Bailey. Here is someone who speaks nothing but basic common sense, and all written in plain, simple language for the novice and expert alike, often accompanied by beautiful and emotive photographs.
I very much like his down-to-Earth approach to the subject and how it is important to learn about your quarry and the environment they inhabit-something often overlooked by quite a few fishermen, you might be surprised to learn!

Use this as your starting point and you will not go far wrong.

Tight lines.

Chough

You might also want to invest in a John Wilson book. The diagrams are often quite large and easy to understand. I think there is one called "The Coarse Fishing Method Manual" by John Wilson. Might be able to get it off ebay or the local second hand book store!
