I'll help you Stewart - it's a waste of money, because :

1. Even if you lived on the Dorset Stour a fixed spool is a better trotting reel than any centrepin that has ever been made.

2. You live on the Nene, where you don't need a reel at all - it's a pole water.

3. If you really have to have a "miracle of engineering" type centrepin just for the hell of it, you already have better ones than this.

Happy New Year

Charllie

Yeh mate, five pins is enough

My club has very good trotting stretches on the Nene and Ouse, you'll have to come for a day soon

Happy New Year to you and Alma!

Indeed, especially considering I managed 25 years with the cream of British match fishing and never saw one in use

Have a good 'un mate, I will give you a call tomorrow - been on Rib with Jeff and Barty today.

Have to agree with Alan on that one, I had the pleasure or displeasure whichever way you look at it 2 weeks ago in Northallerton Angling where he has one for sale so got to play with it & to be perfectly honest I wouldn't pay the money for it, there are better designed pins on the market for a lot less

Stewart this is the best reel IMO for trotting as respect to fixed spool reels , short foot stem for ease of reach to lip of spool ,finger dab to open bail, manual closure of bail arm unlike the mitchell match reels, an awesome reel mate ,had these for years since they came out

Daiwa Auto Bail Reel 1657DM
