Answer:- With modern bearings there is nothing between a ball bearing reel and a true centerpin actioned reel in terms of inertia to overcome.
Also you would be surprised how many people can make a complete ar*e of lubing a plain bearing reel and then they will often compound the error by messing around with the end float adjustment screw I should know I have had to put dozens right over the years and don't even get me started about the pillocks that think that they will just adjust the spokes a little on their aerial reels!!!
True centerpin actioned reels are a delight to use but they are frequently overpriced the best of the breed is in my opinion the Browning revolver because with the solid drum you don't get line bedding as an issue and that is why it is my go to reel when I am demonstrating Wallis casting at game fairs and other events especially when I am expected to put out very long casts as a part of the demo.
However for most, a ball bearing reel especially one of the Okuma Adventa pros or the Sheffields is the way ahead if they want effortless reliable performance, which is why I recommend them to those who want such a reel.
I hope that this provides an adequate explanation
