Default Black Loch, Limerigg

Not so much classic coarse fishing, but more dead baiting and spinning possibly from my canoe on the Black Loch.

Has anyone been up here recently for the pike? I was there last winter and blanked, during the summer I had a few moderate jacks.

Any advice and or options for some free pike fishing welcome.

Cheers

never fished the place, but popped up smellt mackeral tail or sardine usualy works for me, but you will find that if it remains cold the pike wont move about as much, best time is first light and fish right on till dark

Last time I was up all the pike came too eel sections. Tried mackerel, smelt, trout and sprat with no joy. Nice bit of water after finding how decent it is, I may take the fly rod up.

I have fished this place a few times and not had anything above 4 or 5lbs. I am sure though that there must be good sized pike in there.
It does however hold some very nice Perch

An update on my last post, I work beside a local who lives in Limerig and he mentions the loch is now regularly polluted by Poles who kill everything they catch.
Not worthwhile fishing there now .
