Default Lobworms - how long do the last?

Chaps, I bought some lobworms earlier this week on Wednesday - a big box of the things.

Used a few on Thursday morning and put them back in the fridge.

As the box cost me nearly £9, I am hoping they may last until next weekend when I will be on the Norfolk Broads.

Will they last that long and is there anything I can do to prolong their life?

Ta muchly

Ben

Should easily keep that long Ben

If they are in soid, just keep the container closed to prevent it drying out. Dampen the soil SLIGHTLY if it does dry

Aome of the lads up here prefer to keep the worms in moss though as it toughens them up

Thanks for reminding me. Just been and checked mine-phew all is well. I've had them for 3 weeks in a canvas sack sort of thing sat on the concrete shed floor. Just watered them.

Old boy I got them from said same as Ian, just keep them moist. Old boy said they will be ok for a month and more. They are all wiggling so must be happy

Chris.

Ben, best way to keep lobs is to cut a decent sized sod of turf and stick it in a large bait box then let the lobs live in that. Keep it cool or they will "melt" very quickly in this weather.

best way is to keep them in Sphagnum moss or damp shredded newspaper ,this not only keeps them alive but toughens them up as well ,i prefer the latter

Aye, well, I used to engage in all sorts in South Africa but this is all a little different.

Be stuck in a bivvy surrounded by a thousand different flavoured boilies next

No fear, I dont want to end up looking like Bruce
