When you arrive at Balmaha you,ve got 30square miles of water in front of you. It is a serious proposition. You can get boats in the boat yard at Balmaha. Dont be brave take an engine as well. out of the bay turn left, it is very shallow until you get right down to the corner. the weed bed holds fish all year. leading out of the bay are various channels, you pick up fish there on dead baits. further out there is the endrick bank this is a mile long shelf , goes from 3ft to about 12ft good water. Into the river mouth there is a drop off on the right hand side that has produced some good fish in the past. right on the shore of the bay are some backwaters dont ignore them they have produced 30s, you will probably find that it is a little busy with bivvies along the shore, one of the reasons I chucked it in, couldnt be bothered with the hassle of lines going in all directions . good luck to you both if you want more advice pm me .
