The standard length is 13ft!

Some makers allow you to have a 13ft or 15ft with an extension!

Drennen for one, handy for trotting larger rivers.

I agree, 13' with the extension. Covers all I think .

Chris.

I have a 15' and it is brilliant - would not go back to shorter rod except on small streams. The control is a revelation.I have a Harrison Gti and love it.

strange how a thread can jog the memory, and start one reminising.from my first cane rod circa 1960, dont yawn, then tank arials, glass fibre, and wonder of wonders, carbon. allowing variations of length, and reduction of weight, that thames anglers of the past with there roach poles could but dream of. ive fished my way through all of these creations, and finally settled on a NORMARK TITAN 2000, purchased in 1992, and still going strong. at 13 ft and matched with my arial pin,it has been a joy to fish. when the TITAN is retired, i shall look at the benifits of having an extra few inches on my presentation. (and so say all of us). tight lines, steve.

Carbon? 13ft.

Cane? 11ft 6in.

Both answers assume that you will be trotting and hand holding the rod all day long.
