Default Barbel & Chub Session

Decided to finally put the fly rod down for a wee while and get back to my other passion of fishing for chub & Barbel after letting things quieten down with the eager anglers wanting to get back on the river after the closed season.
Ventured out on saturday night from 7pm and had 11 chub and 2 barbel from the Swale, a nice relaxing and nice session to ease my way back into it.

LOL was back in amongst them again last night, and my arm did ache a bit...lol, getting soft in my older age.....lol

Was out yesterday evening for the 2nd session of the season and struck lucky with the extra water that was in the river, 1st fish was a barbel around 5lbs, then 3 chub followed by another barbel of 9.1lbs, another chub then 2 nice barbel in succession, finished the night off with watching a spectacular sunset with the array of colours...what fishing is all about

Sounds good mate
Just returned from a local spot had a 12lb ghost carp on the pole
and a net full of bream

George any fishing is good fishing in my book it does not have to be with a fly rod..
