Default I dream of Tench.....

Roll on June 16th, got into a local syndicate and cant wait. Not sure what it is about a dawn start for Tench but I love it.
Float fishing is my favourite method but could do with a new longish range leger rod as its a fairly big water. any recomendations or rods for sale would be great.
thanks ,dave

I've got one of these, and would very highly recommend it;

Thanks steve i will have a look at that one. I do like the old drennan rods, got a 13 foot river feeder i love for Barbel.
So many rods now very confusing. A lot of modern rods seem a bit dead if you know what i mean. Looked at a shimano Brench rod it felt horrible to me.
atb, dave

My daydreaming is of little else but a lovely big tinca at this time of year. After a promising start though I've just had three blanks on the bounce.

sabs............ why wait until june 16th if its stillwater you can fish it in the "closed season" as that only applies to running or specified waters ???, as for rods have a look at the twin top shimano nexave barbel plus a belting rod with the quivertip top in superb for tench ,bream etc and with the straight top use it for carp,barbel etc its not like some of the broom handles you can buy !!

Have a look at tri-cast trophy, or Preston Innovations Carbonactive for tench and bream.
I would find the Shimano Barbel Nexave still a bit pokey for stillwater feeder fishing, although it would definately give you distance and is very reasonably priced.

thanks for advice men. Bruce, would love to fish before June but new membership runs from June. cant find the rod you recomend, its possibly been replaced.
Highbank, never tried a tri cast rod but have owned a carbon active float rod that I regret selling.
thanks, dave
