Abu 506 via ebay. But why bother? you can get a decent second hand 'pin off there for the same price. Better still, for £30 you can get a new Marco Cortesi pin from Dragon Carp, if you manage to catch one!, see this:
cheap 'pin

I still can't see how they justify £79 for those Bruce (ignoring Mullarkey's discount) - I mean they're not THAT complex really are they, considering you can get a good, more complex baitrunner for a lot less than that. Not saying they're bad reels, just seem overpriced to me.

Just had a look myself and yes, looks like they're out of stock again. They get a batch in and they go very quickly it seems, not surprising at that price! These are the identical reel branded as Ikonix, but as you can see, twice the price, although even then I would still say its good value for a new 'pin:
Ikonix Centre Pin Reel | Ted Carter Fishing Tackle

However, there also seem to be quite a few Ikonix branded ones on ebay for £45 ish just now. Or, if you hunt around on there you could pick up a second hand Leeds or Speedia for around £30 maybe. If you go for second just make sure its not got any sort of significant wobble and it spins freely. At least with centrepins if you want to sell them later you can probably get your money back, or close to, as they're always popular and tend to hold their value.

Always liked the 125M, keep thinking of buying one and then baulk at the price. Still, cheaper than an Okuma centrepin, and a good deal more complex. It's an old reel which presumably long ago recouped development and tooling costs, and they don't advertise it - I'm guessing the price reflects low volume for a niche product.

I used a 506 for years until I switched to a 'pin. Never tried the Daiwa version, but its obviously got a bit more engineering to it. However, what I never much liked with closed face reels was having no finger control on the spool when playing a decent fish using the drag - or having to backwind in the case of the 506 (modified to allow backwinding). Not a problem if you're roach fishing, but not what I wanted when after, or encountering, anything bigger. Do 125M users rely on the drag or backwind?

My closed face is an old Silstar job - I've always screwed the drag right down and backwound. I actually used to use it for all my float fishing and light legering, and had carp to low doubles in on it. The main reason I fancy a new one is that the pick-up pins are worn and tend to trap the line when retracted.
