Default (CHAS) Fly Fishing Competition

In conjunction with the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), Charity Fly Fishing Competition to be held at the lake of Menteith on Saturday 15 May. I would like to offer as auction, the opportunity for 3 rods to fish the Kinermony beat of the River Spey on Saturday 28th August. This offer will not only be confined to this forum and is open to anglers of any standard. Spey Casting instruction will be given free of charge, if required. For further details on the CHAS organisation and the beat, just click on the links below.

The lot will go to the highest bidder by 6pm on the 14th May as the fee will be handed over to event organiser Kevin McCabe and added to the total raised at the Lake of Menteith. If the date is unsuitable, I will be able to arrange an alternative day in September. As a guide, one daily rod at that time of year normally costs around £80-100.

(Current bid £120)

Just spent a couple of days on Kinnermony, we go every year, and it's a lovely beat. Only 3 rods for a beat thats probably the best part of 1 1/2 miles long so plenty of cracking water ( if you can drag yourself away from the boat pool). I fished it once in August and had 2 probably 9 and 10lb.
I have other fishing commitments at this time or i'd be bidding for it myself. Definetely a good opportunity to fish a beat that otherwise you can't get on (nearly all weekly lets to the same people every year) and a great cause!

Cheers Paul G

Bid currently £300 and a good friend has also added 3 lots of fishing on the south Esk. Well worth a look.
