A Day on Kielder 2010 with Don Coe Auction is now over - thanks to all!

Here’s a fishy gift idea...

Don Coe (Operations Manager, Northumbrian Water) has kindly offered a day’s boat fishing (with himself as guide/companion) on Kielder next year. Date to be agreed with winning bidder.

Post your bids on here, or pm me. The day on Kielder with Don will be a great experience, either for the knowledgeable fisherman or of course for the novice.

(We are buying Christmas presents for those who have sought refuge from Newcastle Women’s Aid - for children (new-born to late teens) and their mothers who have been victims of domestic violence. All presents donated have to be new, boxed but unwrapped and unused, and we need to have a promise of payment for the Kielder Day by Monday so that there‘s time to buy and deliver the present before the 25th.

This is for those who have turned to Newcastle Women’s Aid for refuge and advice - a donation or gift could go towards changing their Christmas from nightmare to something special We are doing what we can to support them, and Don is too, hence the Kielder Day)

Our angling experts are all experts in the true sense of the word. Don Coe for example, now Fisheries Manager for Northumbrian Water, started fishing at the tender age of five encouraged by his late father Bill. Bill was the voice of game fishing for some years in the early days of the programme.

When Don left full-time education, he went into car sales but his heart really was in fishing so worked for his dad in Lanchester running a business selling, yes, you've guessed it, fishing tackle.

Don is a very keen angler. In fact, rather like a stick of rock, if you cut him in two you'd probably read the word fish!!!

Hmm, probably not suggesting you slice the man in two just to make sure though...
