I am helping Brookhall Trout Fishery raise funds for Casting for Recovery. Help them to raise money for Casting for Recovery. Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland is a non-profit, support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer.

Brookhall Fishery is holding a retreat in September for the second year running. These retreats are an important and transforming experience with a focus on social support and group interactions, reducing the feeling of isolation many survivors might have.

In addition to teaching the fundamentals of fly casting, entomology, knot-tying and equipment basics, Casting for Recovery retreats focus on spending time on the water practicing catch-and-release fishing. The motion of fly fishing technique provides a gentle exercise for joint and soft tissue mobility.

At present they are collecting Raffle prizes from anyone who is able to donate, anything whatsoever. Ive already had a clear out of unwanted Christmas presents, prizes and other odds and ends I brought them down to them at the weekend. If you think you have anything that would help get in touch with them or myself. I know its going to such a great use.

Hi everyone

I would like to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets from me to help Brookhall raise money for Casting for Recovery.

Last night Brookhall held a competiton which was to raise even more money. the raffle was held afterwards infront everyone and I was onhand to collect any prizes for "my people"

With the help of friends, family, work colleague and fishing buddies I collected £400 for them so I was hoping to see a few names I knew

I wasn't disappointed and here is the list of people who won a prize. Some bigger prizes and some smaller ones.

The retreat for Casting for Recovery at Brookhall takes place next weekend and both myself and (Bri) Greyduster and a few others from the site will be helping out. I am looking forward to hearing the final tally for the money raised. I will write a report next week.
